Only The Young Die Good is the third and latest feature film by award-winning Writer/Director Dominic Deacon and Producer Anna Young. Production commenced in Melbourne, Victoria on 23rd November 2011, with completion anticipated mid-2012. The film delivers a sexy, action-packed spin on classic 1940′s Hollywood and Film Noir.

Melbourne 1949: Private eye Jack Mitchum is a good man in a dirty town. When the beautiful and wealthy Valerie Richmond requests Jack investigate her philandering husband, Jack instead becomes witness to his murder.
Identified at the scene, Jack has only days to prove his innocence before he takes the fall. His investigation takes him deep into Melbourne’s seedy underground. A world of shady bars, wild women and rampant violence.
Jack has to play rough & dirty just to stay alive as he learns that in this world, Only The Young Die Good.

Anna Young is producer of the award-winning independent feature films “Bad Habits” (2009) and “Burlesque” (2010). She is also a regular stage performer and produced and starred in two burlesque theatre productions “Stage Fright!” and “Bacchanalia: The Burlesque Circus at The End of The World” under the stage name Poppy Cherry. She has completed a course in Producing and Production Management at Open Channel, and is currently the Events and Operations Manager at Burlesque Bar.
Dominic Deacon is an award winning writer and director. “Only The Young Die Good” will be his third feature after “Bad Habits” (2009) and “Burlesque” (2010) which scooped several awards including prizes for “Best Australian Feature” and “Best Screenplay”. Over the past year Dominic wrote and directed the two successful stage shows “Stage Fright!” and “Bacchanalia: The Burlesque Circus at The End of The World” that played to sold out houses. Dominic has also directed, shot and edited corporate videos, including promotional material for Burlesque Bar and a series of educational DVDs for Epworth Hospital.
Drawing on a passion for film and photography from a young age, Matt has worked as news editor for Network TEN and chief editor for Good Morning Australia. Matt has worked as a director of photographer and camera operator for the past 5 years, including TVC’s for Foxtel, music videos, various short films and feature films. Matt also works as a freelance colorist and film teacher.
Evan Kitchener has worked as Sound Designer and Composer for television and various feature films, including Bad Habits, Burlesque, From Parts Unknown and Citizen Jia Li. Evan also owns a sound production company ‘Moxie Music’.
Nicole Jenkins is a Fashion Historian, owner of Circa Vintage Clothing and author of the book ‘Love Vintage’. Nicole has completed an Associate Diploma of Stage and Studio Techniques, majoring in Costume Design and Construction at Perth Technical College/WA Academy of Performing Arts (Edith Cowan University), and has worked in the art department on many films.
Samii Salisbury has worked as a freelance makeup artist for 4 years, specialising in bridal, burlesque, pinup and special effects makeup. She has worked alongside Napoleon Perdis and at various Expos and Trade shows. Samii is currently employed as Certificate and Diploma Educator at Napoleon Perdis Academy.

JACK MITCHUM – A good man in a dirty world. Private eye Jack Mitchum is a smoker, a drinker and a man with a hundred bad debts. Once as tough as they come, the years and the booze have started to tell. Cocky but tired and world weary, Jack lives a loner’s life. While you could fill a book with his failings, Jack lives by a strict code of honour built on a certain kind of honesty and decency. It’s this that sets him apart from the low-lifes he deals with daily. For years it’s been his strength and his weakness. Now it may be about to bring him undone.
MARK CASAMENTO graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in 2007. Since then he has been cast in various Film, TV and Theatre productions both nationally and abroad. He has played lead roles in multiple theatre productions, and has appeared in a number of Australian films and TV series including Steven Spielberg’s The Pacific, The Strip, Blue Heelers, Home & Away, Crash and the feature film, Two Fists, One Heart – to name a few. Mark is currently represented by Shanahans Management.
A dancer, a singer and occasional call girl Gloria Dulce is the star attraction at The Paris Cat Jazz Club. Young and sassy, she carries herself with an easy confidence thinking she’s seen it all. The truth is Gloria is hopelessly naïve and about to learn some brutal lessons in the ways of the world and the natures of the men who desire her. As her confidence turns to vulnerability Gloria has to choose who she can put her trust in. That is, if she can trust anyone at all.
JASPER JEWEL has been captivating Melbourne’s burlesque audiences with her old-world vintage charm since 2009. While she caresses Melbourne’s stages with her elegance, a stitch of cheek and a glint in her eye she never leaves her audience unsatisfied as they are as much a part of her show and her cuban healed pantyhose. Jasper is also lead singer in the band Bunny Monroe.
VALERIE RICHMOND is wealthy and beautiful. A woman accustomed to Toorak mansions and money. Her comfortable life has gifted her an easy confidence and she carries herself with an icy dignity. When her husband is killed, Valerie becomes the prime suspect in the police investigation. All of a sudden she finds herself reliant on detective Jack Mitchum, a man she can barely hide her contempt for, to clear her name. But as Jack comes to learn, Valerie is a much more capable and complex woman than appearances suggest.
EMILY PADDON-BROWN trained at NASDA prior to gaining a Bachelor of Arts Music Theatre from WAAPA in 2006. While studying Emily played Vera in Pal Joey, Tammy Faye Hightower in Bat Boy, Nell in Bobbin Up & Jane Eyre in Jane Eyre. Emily played the heroine in feature film Last of the Living (Stef), and roles in the short films Frosting (Kaye), & The Coming of Age of Emily Pierce (Julia). On stage Emily has performed in Macbeth as a witch, Guys and Dolls as Kitty Quick (US Sarah Brown), Jekyll and Hyde in Korea and was understudy for Breast Wishes.
RAUL may dress like a dandy but the man is anything but. Wild and very dangerous Raul is unpredictability personified. Educated and intelligent, Ramon is nonetheless ruled entirely by his instincts. His violent mood swings switching quickly between an easy geniality and a violent, perverse streak of sadism.
Actor, mime artist and physical comedian, ROD LARA has had 10 years performing in both stage and screen. He also performs in his very own solo physical comedy shows in various places and for various events. His routines showcases the skills of physical comedy, mime and dance.
STEPHANIE WELLS – Another star attraction at the The Paris Cat Jazz Club. Stephanie’s been around. She’s sees all the angles she not afraid to play them for her own benefit. It’s this duplicitous trait that’s about to get her into a lot of trouble.
No stranger to the stage, STRAWBERRY SIREN has been performing since the tender age of 12 (yes…. that’s 16 years under lights!), drawing on her extensive background in Circus, Theatre and Dance to provide a fresh and fancy take on Burlesque – “Cirlesque”. “Miss Burlesque Victoria 2010″, Strawberry has performed for many high quality events and companies including the Fringe Festival, The Australian Burlesque Festival, Tim Burton Exhibition Opening, Red Door Burlesque, The Ruby Revue, The Burlesque Bar, Dr Sketchy’s, Ink & Lead, Red Bennies, The Flying Fruit Fly Circus and Parasouls.
LUCY RAYMOND Jack Mitchum’s private secretary. With her collared buttoned to her neck and her prim hair, Lucy is a picture of respectability. It’s all a front though. She may look like a librarian, but she flirts like a cheerleader. With a troubled home life to escape from, Lucy not only performs her job professionally but also acts a virtual governess to the wayward Jack.
BECKY LOU is a professional burlesque performer taking Melbourne by storm. With a figure made for mid-century cheesecake and the face of a silent-film siren, Becky Lou’s witty routines are a cheeky combination of goofball comedy, classic hoochie coochie and retro sex appeal.
An old cop and a good cop. Walter’s been in the game for years and seen it all. He has Jack’s trust as his only friend and confidant. But in this town no one’s above a little graft and corruption.
HAYDN EVANS has acted in various Australian television dramas and feature films. He played the lead role of “Frank Bannister” in the Australian film ‘Burlesque’. Married with two sons aged 16 and 12. Haydn combines acting with a passion for Muscle cars, live Music, Guns, and Bourbon.
RUBY – A model and show girl who’s been imbibing too many substances. A beguiling woman with a models body and a child like innocence that belies the trouble she’s seen.
KELLY ANN DOLL is one Australia’s most high profile Burlesque Performers. She has been at the top of the Australian cabaret circuit for many years, being one of the most hi‐energy and skilled in her craft. Currenlt Miss Burlesque Victoria, Kelly has Headlined the Australian Burlesque Festival, Sydney Fringe, The Burlesque Ball, Burlesque Royale (state theatre & Crown Casino), Gangsters Ball and more. Her performances can include swing, latin, ballet, circus & the art of tease, creating combinations of never before seen live art, leaving her in a class of her own.
LUCAS – A brute and a ruffian, Lucas likes to follow trouble and takes pleasure in taking advantage of pretty young girls.
ASHLEIGH SOUTHAM is a New Zealand born actor and musician who has played numerous roles in various music videos, short and feature films. Recent feature film credits include ‘Pawn Shop’ and ‘Last of The Living’.
